College career

As a freshman for Wofford, he scored 13.8 points per game and led the

(SoCon) in three-point shooting percentage. At the close of the season, he was named SoCon Freshman of the Year. As a sophomore, Magee raised his scoring average to 18.6 points per game and was named first-team all-conference. As a junior, Magee led the SoCon in scoring at 22.1 points per game and again led the league in three-point percentage (.439). At the close of the season, he was awarded the Malcolm U. Pitt SoCon Player of the Year by the league media. Following the 2017–18 season, Magee declared his intention to test the waters for the
